Lower Manhattan Skyline
A couple of years ago a friend visited New York City for the first time and came back with a big bunch of pictures of skyscrapers. I found it much too obvious and commented “You can’t travel to New York and come back with pictures of skyscrapers!”
Eventually I have been there last September for a long weekend and even if it was not really the first time… just look at my pictures!
We took the Circle line and navigate the half circle around lower Manhattan, passing by Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Queens, Long Island, under the Brooklyn and the Manhattan Bridges, from the Hudson River to the East River back and forth. Not very original, but I was excited like a child and could not stop taking all these boring and obvious pictures.
And if that was not enough I enjoy watching them again and wonder: “What is attractive in this patchwork of ugly buildings, dismissed industrial plants, popular tourist’s attractions and outdated bridges under a dark grey sky?”
